Quite the talkative couple of dogs who think they are cats

This morning my wife decided to leave the (now) useless baby gate up between the main room and the kitchen and get the dogs some food. Ariel (the more mischievous of the two) jumps over the baby gate like the cats. We’re talking front feet followed by back feet then jumping right over. Roughly two seconds later here comes Jasmine, albeit not quite as graceful, over the baby gate.

At least the gates are only ten bucks and someone at a thrift store will find use for them.

A few hours later I walk of my bedroom to see my wife and Jasmine on the couch. Jasmine gets up, climbs on the top of a full basket of clean clothes, steps to the arm of the couch and makes to jump down like the cats. The dog literally walked eight feet along the sectional to jump like a cat. If they start meowing soon I won’t be surprised.

To get to the title of the post, these dogs are so funny when they play. Most of the time they wrestle for a toy and eventually one will get the toy and the other will look for something else. Every now and then when one gets a toy or something they shouldn’t be chewing on the other dog will start barking. Just non-stop barking for several minutes until the dog not barking leaves the toy, then they change places with chewing.

Also, at least once a day, they will lay on the floor (just a few inches apart) and bark at each other for a solid minute sometimes two minutes. Then they get up and go chew on things. It’s so adorable. I love having dogs again.
